LD 11 is home to a diverse community. We are a majority-minority district that is home to a vibrant Latino population—including tens of thousands of immigrant families, as well as Arizona's largest Black community. Our district also encompasses parts of the Gila River Indian Community and the Town of Guadalupe, which includes a strong community of Pascua Yaqui Indians.
Along with a vibrant population, LD 11 is also home to a vast and beautiful ecology. Our district encompasses parts of the Salt River, as well as South Mountain Park, the largest municipal park in the United States, and one of the largest urban parks in North America.
LD 11 is an engine of economic productivity for out state and region. We are home to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the country, as well as parts of Downtown Phoenix.
Still, our district faces challenges. Due to a lack of investment from Arizona's Republican lawmakers, our district ranks #3 in the state for child poverty, and we rank near the bottom of all Arizona legislative districts for college attainment.
That's why I'm running to represent our district in the Arizona House of Representatives: To lift our community out of poverty, adequately fund our schools, and ensure everyone in our district has the opportunity to succeed.
