Abortion and Reproductive Justice
We must have the freedom to decide how and when we start or grow a family
Oscar believes in the right to choose. But the right-wing Supreme Court has overturned 50 years of precedent and has ended Roe v. Wade.
This now opens the door to all abortion procedures being made a crime in Arizona.
This decision will have disastrous consequences for our state -- but the biggest impact will be felt by poor and marginalized people in our state who do not have the means or time to travel thousands of miles into a state where abortion remains legal.
As state representative, I will support the right to seek and obtain an abortion.
And I will fervently oppose any laws that prosecute and incarcerate patients and providers for seeking and providing healthcare.
In office, I will also be a champion for other reproductive justices issues, including:
- Ensuring high-quality child care for all
- Instituting paid parental leave for all working families
- Providing medically accurate, age-appropriate comprehensive health education in public schools
- Prohibiting sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination in all government actions--from adoption to housing assistance
- Repealing “religious refusal” laws that serve as loopholes for discrimination
- Repealing the recently-passed ban on gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth and the ban on transgender students participating in school sports
- Banning conversion therapy
- Fighting for a single payer universal healthcare system
