As a former South Phoenix teacher, I know that education is the most important investment we can make. That's why I'm fighting for teacher pay raises and universal pre-K. I'm also working around the clock to end the ESA voucher scam that is draining money from our public school system.

I believe medical care is a human right, not a privilege for the wealthy. That's why I introduced the Arizona Medical Debt Cancelation Act, which would wipe out hundreds of millions of dollars in debt for hardworking Arizona families.

While the ultra-wealthy benefit from tax loopholes written by lobbyists, the rest of us are struggling to get by. That's why I proudly introduced the legislation to take on the corporations that are jacking up the cost of rents and mortgages in our community.

The right wing is attacking our freedom to vote and attempting to turn our country into an authoritarian nightmare. We won't stand for it. That's why I've co-sponsored legislation to protect our voting rights and expand access to the ballot box. 

Workers are the backbone of our economy and our society. Workers provide our food, build our roads, construct our schools, keep our communities clean, ensure our hospitals are running, and more. That's why I'm proud to be the prime sponsor of legislation to end the corporate-backed "Right to Work" law in Arizona.

As the proud child of immigrants, I know firsthand the important role immigrants play in our communities. In office, I'm fighting for policies that advance immigrant rights, safety, and dignity. For example, when the far-right legislature passed a racist, xenophobic bill, I took them to court the very next day.

Our state⁠—and our world⁠—is in crisis. From wildfires and drought, to pollution in our community, we must take immediate action to tackle the climate crisis and ensure clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment for all. That's why I'm leading the fight to prevent mega-polluters from  operating in working-class communities.

Abortion is health care. And health care is a human right. That's why I helped lead the fight to end the despicable 1864 abortion ban. I'll always work to ensure that abortion is safe and legal and that families have the freedom to decide how and when to start a family, free from political interference. 

Protecting the rights of people with disabilities is a critical priority. From ending predatory employment practices to ensuring access to the ballot for voters with disabilities, we must fight to ensure that all people are treated with dignity.
